Islamic Counselling & Therapy
Culturally and Spiritually Aligned Care
Welcome
At Masjid Abu Bakr, we are committed to supporting the emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing of our community. Our Islamic Counselling & Therapy service offers a confidential, compassionate, and faith‑centred space for individuals, couples, and families seeking guidance and healing—without compromising their deen.
Rooted in authentic Islamic teachings and informed by contemporary, evidence‑based psychological practice, our approach honours the whole person: mind, heart, and soul.
“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress, Allah will relieve his.” (Muslim)
Our Approach: Islamic Psychology (ʿIlm al‑Nafs)
Islamic Psychology (ʿIlm al‑Nafs) is a strengths‑based, solution‑focused approach to counselling. Rather than centring solely on past causes or present problems, it emphasises current circumstances, inner resources, and future aspirations.
This model integrates:
- Spiritual principles grounded in the Qur’an and Sunnah
- Emotional and behavioural awareness
- Cognitive insight and self‑reflection
- Practical strategies for growth and resilience
The aim is not merely symptom relief, but meaningful, lasting change that draws a person closer to Allah while strengthening their capacity to navigate life’s challenges.

Your privacy is paramount. All information shared during counselling is kept strictly confidential, except where there is a legal or ethical duty of care to prevent serious harm.
Your healing should never come at the cost of your deen.
Islamic psychology is not only about the mind—it is about the soul, the heart, and the journey back to Allah. We are honoured to walk alongside you on that journey, with compassion, wisdom, and faith.
